Hayden sits west along US-40 in the broader part of the Yampa Valley, and it is a genuinely different landscape from South Routt. Flatter, more open agricultural ground, a working town rather than a resort one, and growth pressure coming from people priced out of Steamboat.

Being Straight About the Drive

We are based in Toponas, which is not next door to Hayden. We travel for work here and we are glad to, but it is honest to say that a half-day job is a harder proposition at that distance than it is in Oak Creek or Yampa.

What works well is the larger job, or several jobs batched into one visit. If you have a driveway, a drainage problem and a pad to build, that is a good use of a trip out here. A single culvert on its own may be better served by someone closer, and we will tell you so rather than pad the number.
