Out Here, the Ground Decides a Lot

A driveway that was not built to drain washes out with the first hard runoff. A septic system that was not installed to county standard fails inspection and stalls a closing. A lot that has not been cleared holds up a builder who is already on the calendar.

And when you call around for help, you tend to get a number that seems high and a start date that keeps sliding.

Dream Ridge Excavating was built to answer that. We handle foundations, septic systems, driveways, land clearing, fire mitigation, trucking and lawn work for property owners across Toponas, Yampa, Oak Creek, Phippsburg, Steamboat Springs and the country in between. We work directly with the owner wherever we can, because that is how the schedule stays in our hands instead of somebody else’s.

Most of What Inflates an Excavation Bill Is Hours, Not Machines

What sets the work apart is simpler than it sounds: an efficient job site.

Most of what inflates an excavation bill in this valley is not the machine or the material. It is hours. Crews that stage poorly, wait on decisions, or make three trips where one would do. Jobs that should take two days take four, and the customer pays for all of it.

Dream Ridge was priced around running tight days so the number at the bottom stays fair. That is the whole idea behind the company.

What You Get

  • ✓A straight estimate after someone walks the ground. Not a number over the phone.
  • ✓The owner on the machine. There is no crew you have never met showing up in his place.
  • ✓Permits handled on direct jobs, so nobody is waiting on anybody.
  • ✓A schedule that holds, because the work is staged before the machine moves.

Getting a Straight Answer Is Simple

Three steps, and nobody asks you for a decision until you have a number.

1

Tell Us About the Project

Call 970-740-7923 or send the form. Describe the ground, the town it is in, and what you are trying to do with it.

2

David Walks the Ground

He comes out, looks at the site with you, and tells you what the ground will and will not allow. Then you get a straight estimate, not a range.

3

The Work Gets Scheduled and Done

On direct jobs he pulls the permits himself, so nobody is waiting on anybody. Then the machine shows up and the job runs tight.

Registered Where It Actually Matters

Owner David Stoltzfus is licensed and certified to install septic systems in Routt County, training and county registration that a lot of contractors around here do not carry. He is fully insured.

He runs his own track machine and brings in a dozer or excavator when the job calls for it. Before starting Dream Ridge he spent fifteen years in construction across roofing, framing and general building, plus several years in equipment rental that put him on job sites next to excavating contractors week after week. That is where the idea for this company came from.

Where We Work

Dream Ridge is based in Toponas, which puts South Routt County minutes away rather than an hour and a half. Steamboat Springs is roughly forty-five minutes north and is the largest market we serve.

We also take work in Stagecoach, Hayden and Clark, and across the county line into Grand County around Kremmling and Granby.

Larger projects take us further than that. Park and Teller Counties, in central Colorado, are travel work rather than a local service area, and the Park County and Teller County pages set out exactly what that means.

Not sure if you are in range?

Call and ask. The drive is usually the deciding factor, and it is a short conversation.
